Even the basic bow is a very nice weapon, so you must be missing one of the two basics: 1. You have to aim, as DragonTerrain said above, via the right mouse button—it takes a bit of practice to get used to the drop-off in long-range shots. 2. You have to 'draw back' on the string by holding the left mouse button.

Before the crossbow throwing knives are the best for stealth kills, and after you get the crossbow that's all you'll ever need for stealth. The Recurve is slow firing, difficult to aim and generally useless. People use it to make themselves feel superior. I have Ghost Recon Breakpoint and I'm pretty sure there isn't a bow. I mean I wish there was I'd love to go full Rambo but I'm pretty sure there isn't! So for far cry 6 I think most headshots are one hit only, a centre chest shot with a high damage weapon should be too though. Games massively go downhill when they needlessly add in gear score

That didn't unlock then for him. There’s no way, recurves don’t exist in the FC5 environment. The post that person made was probably referring to if your co-op partner drops the bow, you can then pick it up and unlock it. Not sure if this still works, or if they patched it. Yeah that's what I thought, and unfortunately that doesn't work
Far Cry really is, in my opinion the best game for archery. Plus, in previous Far Cry games, like 4 for example, I would always carry two bows, one for distance with the marksman sight, and the other with no sight for close range. I can't wait to do that in this one.
1- silenced shotgun/SMG, for CQB / currently mp40 (tigerstriped, a cutie) 2- assault/battle rifle, for medium to long range / currently AK47. 3- a rocket launcher, antivehicle role / currently that laser-guided launcher. 4- a pistol (smg if 1 is a shotgun) / currently sawed off shotgun.
